As Singer Burke’s founding partner, Sandy Singer has built a team that does not hesitate to challenge the status quo. His approach is based on unwavering integrity and long-held principles: professionalism, communication, responsibility, commitment and a respect for human beings as individuals.
These values permeate all aspects of Singer Burke, including the team-oriented structure of the organization itself. When inviting those who are now his partners to join his practice, Sandy resolved that all clients would be shared across all partners and staff to reap the greatest benefit from the complementary, specialized expertise of the entire team. This approach was in direct contrast to the silos he saw other professional firms build, and is one reason he believes Singer Burke has enjoyed so many 30+ year relationships with both staff and clients.
Those fundamental values and focus on lasting client relationships haven’t changed since 1972, when Sandy founded the practice that would grow into Singer Burke Zimmer & Kogan. In addition to overseeing all accounting, tax and business management operations, Sandy’s investment background and acumen made him a trusted resource in wealth management, particularly in sourcing opportunities for clients to access exclusive real estate deals. It was only natural that Sandy would embrace the creation of SB Capital Management in 2002 to fully realize his and his partners’ vision of a truly comprehensive and client-centric approach towards financial services. Prior to establishing Singer Burke, Sandy spent eight years in public accounting with Price Waterhouse & Co. and three years as Vice President of Capital Management Corporation, an investment banking firm.
Sandy and his wife of more than 50 years enjoy keeping close ties with their two children and their respective spouses, and four grandsons. A Los Angeles native and UCLA graduate, he maintains strong community roots and has served on the boards of several civic and charitable organizations, including Stop Cancer, the Jewish Federation, Valley Jesters, Saticoy Country Club and El Caballero Country Club, where he has served as president.
