As a tax partner at Singer Burke Zimmer, Elaina Kogan specializes in helping high-net-worth clients manage and reduce tax liability, both individually and as business owners. On a day-to-day basis, she oversees tax compliance and tax planning, develops best practices and procedures, and supervises the Singer Burke tax team. A firm believer in partnership, Elaina thrives on working with clients who take an active role in tax planning, and she enjoys the gratification of seeing an immediate drop in a client’s tax liabilities once they’ve used the custom tax strategies she has developed for them. She is known for building solid relationships with clients and maintaining open lines of communication through changing life and financial circumstances.
Elaina previously worked in KPMG’s Financial Services Group, where she specialized in tax compliance for financial institutions. When she made the move to Singer Burke in 2003, she leveraged her master’s degree in business taxation from USC to transition her focus to individuals and their closely held businesses. Elaina also holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from USC.
Elaina lives in the Porter Ranch area of Los Angeles with her husband, Gene, and their two children. Active with her local synagogue, she’s been a leader in outreach for Jewish teens and has hosted students from various parts of the country. She savors her family vacations in Hawaii and loves going to the movies, hiking and trying out new restaurants.
